Roster Announcements - Travel Hockey for the 2024-2025 Season

Dear LBYH Travel Hockey Families, 

We hope this email finds you well. The LBYH board of directors would like to thank you for your participation in the tryouts and your continued support of our program. We are excited to announce the team placements for the upcoming season. 

After careful evaluation by our coaching staff and evaluation committee members, we are pleased to inform you of the team your child has been placed on. Please find the team assignments on our website CLICK HERE. The password to open the team placement documents is 2024rosters. 

We understand that team placements can be exciting and sometimes challenging. We want to reassure you that the decision was made following an exhaustive evaluation process. LBYH’s evaluation process involves three main components: 

1. Coaches Evaluations: 2023-24 travel players were evaluated by their team coaches at the midpoint and end of the season. 

2. Evaluation Scrimmages: Players were evaluated by a committee of LB coaches while they scrimmaged with their age groupings for next season.

3. Tryouts: Players who registered for the 2024-25 season were evaluated by a tryout committee while performing a series of drills and playing in scrimmages with their age groupings for next season.

When selecting individuals for the evaluation scrimmage committees and tryout committees we made our best effort to involve a varied group of knowledgeable evaluators while eliminating conflicts of interest at each age level.  

Placing players on teams that best suit their ability is a difficult endeavor and the process outlined above seeks to incorporate data from a broad range of sources to make the best placements possible. We have worked diligently to create balanced teams that will provide opportunities for player development and a positive hockey experience for all. 

We also understand that players may have preferences for certain teams, but we encourage everyone to approach the new season with an open mind, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work hard and support their teammates. Hockey is a team sport that requires collaboration, sportsmanship, and dedication, and we believe that each player will have the opportunity to grow and excel on their respective teams. 

LBYH, at its discretion, will generally seek to roster an equal number of skaters and goalies on each team whenever possible. Typically, our top team rosters will initially have fewer players upon announcement allowing upward player movement at the beginning of the season in September. Final teams will have equitable numbers across each level after all player movement has taken place. Coaching staff information is posted together with the team rosters where decisions have been confirmed, and coaching staff updates will be posted on our website as further information becomes available. 

The LBYH registrar will send you a link to the team registration page in the coming week(s). Teams at each level are generally very full so it is important for your player to claim their roster spot by registering and paying the roster reservation fee when you receive this email. Your player’s spot is not guaranteed until you register and pay the roster reservation fee. 

Mite Families: Please note that we have currently rostered four teams. There will likely be movement of a few players upwards on teams when we finalize rosters in early September. 

Squirt Families: Please note that we have currently rostered four teams. There will likely be movement of a few players upwards on teams when we finalize rosters in early September. 

Peewee Families: Please note that we have currently rostered four teams. There will likely be movement of a few players upwards on teams when we finalize rosters in early September. 

Bantam Families: Teams and coaches are not finalized yet and will be communicated in the coming week(s).

Midget Families: Please note that we have currently rostered two teams.
