LBYH’s LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY - is for skaters ages 4-10 years old who have already had some skating experience and are now interested in learning the fundamentals of ice hockey. Participants should not be a current travel hockey player.
Program Description:
The program covers the basic hockey ABC’s for the beginner – skating, agility, balance, edges, and all kinds of fun with pucks
The more experienced skater will work on more advanced skating techniques, puck handling passing, and shooting
Skaters will be placed in groups based on skill level
The program is strongly recommended for any player interested in playing in-house hockey, and who can benefit from more on-ice instruction
Minimum age, skill, and equipment requirements:
4 to 10 years of age
All participants should already have basic skating skills, which is the ability to stand on skates, keep balance and take strides
Full hockey equipment is needed from head to toe, which includes
Certified Hockey Helmet w/full mask (NO bike helmets) and mouthguard
Hockey jersey
Hockey gloves
Elbow pads
Shoulder pads
Hockey pants
Shin pads
Hockey skates
Hockey socks
Hockey stick
Athletic cup and supporter
Water bottle

LBYH offers a family discount of 15% for 2 or more siblings
LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS PER SESSION

It is not necessary to have a membership with the Hayden Recreation Center to participate.
