Your Questions Answered: PeeWee/U12 and Bantam/U14 In-House
Recently LBYH announced the launch of In-House hockey for PeeWee/U12 and Bantam/U14 level players.
This games-only, no-checking, recreational, co-ed league will run from November through February with games on Saturday mornings at Hayden.
Registration is now open and we are looking forward to a great season.
Since the announcement we have had several questions that I wanted to share here.
My child has limited or no hockey experience, is this appropriate for him/her?
Yes. This is a great opportunity for kids who want to try hockey for the first time or to continue to play hockey without the commitment of travel hockey. Players will be grouped by ability/experience. Newer players will play with and against each other.
My player plays on a travel team, can he/she do in-house as well?
Yes, we strongly encourage more experienced players to use in-house and the half ice 3v3 format to further skill development and creativity on the ice while having fun.
What ages can play?
Players with birth years 2005-2008 are eligible.
Will my player be required to play goalie?
No. If he/she wants to try goalie, the opportunity is there. But we will also rotate full-time travel team goalies looking for extra practice through the teams. If a goalie is not available we will utilize the “Shooter Tutors.”
Is there checking?
No. This is a no-checking league. Games will have 2 referees and penalties will be called.
Can my player be placed on a team with a friend?
We will try to accommodate all teammate requests. The only scenario where when wouldn’t accommodate a request would be if the request would create a competitive imbalance.
Are there practices?
This is a game-only league. There are no practices.
Are the games early in the morning?
That depends on your definition of early. Games will be on Saturdays from 9:30-10:15am.
Can I help coach?
Yes you can! No skating or hockey experience is required! You will need to be CORI'd and complete SafeSport training. Contact Brad Conlin at
if you are interested in coaching.
